The Gunners have already qualified as group winners and their opponents needed a win at the Emirates to have any chance of progressing.

But things didn’t go to plan for the Belarusian outfit as a rampant Arsenal side dominated and raced into a 3-0 half-time lead.

And it didn’t get much better after the break, as a counter-attack saw defender Denis Polyakov slice a Theo Walcott cross into his own net.

The humiliation didn’t stop there for the 26-year-old, as the home support cruelly tore into him.

Arsenal sold more than 54,000 tickets for the clash but just under 30,000 bothered to turn up to a deserted stadium.

“Arsenal sold more than 54,000 tickets for the clash but just under 30,000 bothered to turn up to a deserted stadium.”

But those that came to show their support ensured they enjoyed their evening by breaking into choruses of ‘Sign him up’ aimed at Polyakov, as well as ‘Can we play you every week’.

Arsene Wenger’s side patiently await their fate in Monday’s draw for the last 32, with European heavyweights Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund potential opponents.

They’re back in Premier League action on Sunday with a trip to Southampton (12pm).
