Ola incident: Bengaluru woman changes residence after threat calls from cab driver

BENGALURU: A 23-year-old woman, who was allegedly harassed by Ola cab driver Manjunath Reddy on Sunday night, has temporarily moved to her friend’s house after the driver threatened her of dire consequences for complaining about him to the cab aggregator.

Madivala police have asked the woman to register a complaint against Reddy. But the woman has decided otherwise.

The woman was allegedly harassed by Reddy on the Koramangala intermediate road, following which she registered a complaint with the Ola.  Reddy’s device was immediately blocked by Ola. But on Monday, he made at least six calls to the woman and threatened her.

Speaking to Express, the woman (whose name has been withheld) said, “I am scared of my safety as he said he knows where I live. Also, the issue has attracted a lot of attention from media. I have moved to my friend’s place and will stay here for the time being.”Meanwhile, an official from Madivala police station said they cannot take action until the woman registers a complaint.
