Brexit success! UK will be RICHER once it leaves the EU reveals economist on Question Time
THE UK will “be richer” because of Brexit an economist from the Institute of Economic Affairs revealed on BBC Question Time last night.

Kate Andrews’s comments came as Remoaners on the programme continued to scaremonger about the UK’s prosperity outside of the EU.
However, the respected economic expert rejected their negative analysis of Brexit and promised the UK would do well outside the Brussels club if they made trade deals around the world.
She said: “I think you’re going to be richer if you use the process of Brexit to be optimistic and to try and pursue the best deals possible.”
Criticising the other pundits on the show for their low expectations in the UK’s ability to succeed on their own, she reminded the audience that the Government’s economic forecast during the referendum debate has been proven wrong.
The economist added: “What happened with the Government during the referendum when it came out with its figures? £4000 worse off if you voted Brexit, the economy’s going to grow six per cent less than it would have if you voted for Brexit, was that true? No.”
Slating George Osborne’s forecast produced when he was Chancellor as to how Brexit would impact the UK, she added: “Don’t put statistics into the air that you can’t rely on because there are a definitive number of variables.”
TV personality, and Remoaner, Richard Bacon gave a different assessment to Ms Andrews.
Painting a much more negative picture of the EU post Brexit he said: “I think in the end people will be poorer.
“All independent economic bodies said it would be a net negative for the economy and if it’s next negative for the economy it’s net negative for everyone.”
However, while Remoaners continue to try to spin a dystopian outlook for the UK in 2019 onwards, the economic evidence agrees with Ms Andrews.
According to a new report released last week, the UK remains the “best business environment in Europe”.
The Legatum Prosperity Index, which measures the economic and social wellbeing of countries around the world, has found the UK has retained its place since last year’s vote as the tenth most prosperous country in the world and the top European location for businesses.
Evidence from the index also indicates that the quality of the economy in the UK has also improved over the past 12 months and is now better than both Canada and the US.

Legatum Institute’s CEO, Baroness Philippa Stroud, said the “solid foundations” that the UK is built on were responsible for a booming nation.
She said: “It is encouraging to see the UK’s ranking unchanged since the momentous referendum last year.
“This year’s Index demonstrates that Britain has built the best Business Environment in Europe, and the fifth best in the world.
“Combined with world-class Governance, it suggests that the UK’s prosperity has been built on solid foundations, as it prepares for a future outside of the EU.”
