Queen Elizabeth II has many royal traditions that she follows when it comes to her travels, from what she takes to what method of transportation.
It was recently revealed why she must always take a black outfit with her when travelling abroad.
One thing the Queen always does is head to a certain destination for her Christmas holiday every year.
Whilst some may choose sunny Australia for a break, the Queen chooses somewhere much closer to home.

Queen Elizabeth always chooses to go to Sandringham in Norfolk
Joined by the royal family, Queen Elizabeth always chooses to go to Sandringham in Norfolk for her Christmas holiday.
Sandringham is privately owned by the Queen, therefore isn’t part of the Crown Estate
Based in Norfolk, her country home is one where the entire family join during Christmas for full English breakfasts together and swapping presents.
The family also then go to church on Christmas morning at St Mary’s Magdalene, before the Queen’s address to the nation.

This Christmas, however, will see a new guest joining Sandringham with Prince Harry’s fiancee Meghan Markle.
Having announced their engagement last month, this permits her to join the family in Norfolk, joining the Duck of Edinburgh, Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as Prince Charles and Camilla.
The actress will be part of the black-tie dinner, church service and pheasant shooting as part of the festive celebrations.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said: “Now they are engaged and she will shortly be a senior member of the royal family, it is pivotal that she feels an integral part of it as soon as possible."

The Queen also has one particular place for her summer holidays in the UK, preferring the solitude of Balmoral as opposed to a cheap beach holiday in Tenerife.
Balmoral Estate is also privately owned by the Queen, having been bought for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852.
Queen Elizabeth will regularly spend August and September at the property, with it allowing her a large amount of privacy in the 50,000 acres.
Princess Eugenie once spoke out saying how the Queen is “the most happy there”.
