Arsenal travel to Southampton on Sunday on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
The Gunners were unfortunate to take nothing from the game after forcing United goalkeeper David De Gea into 14 saves at the Emirates.
But former Arsenal player Merson believes Arsene Wenger’s side can take all three points from their game at St Mary’s.
Merson told Sky Sports: “Before last week, I thought it was impossible to play that well and lose a game.

“If they play at the same level as last week, then Southampton won't be able to handle them”

“Man United were second best at the Emirates and won 3-1. But this is a nice game for Arsenal. Southampton are a nice team.
“On a lovely pitch, Southampton aren't going to really get at Arsenal, and these are the games that Arsenal like, and play their best football.
“If they play at the same level as last week, then Southampton won't be able to handle them.”
Arsenal thrashed BATE 6-0 tonight in their final Europa League Group H clash, three days before they travel to the south coast.
