Vildo Westby, 28, a Belizean wanted for the murder of 44-year-old San Pedro resident Felix Ayuso earlier this year was caught in Mexico today and is in the process of being deported back to Belize to face charges.
Westby evaded Belizean autorities for quite some time until his capture today.
He was sighted numerous times across the Mexican border in Chetumal and Botes.
Police indicated that Westby was the main suspect in Ayuso’s death.
Ayuso was found stabbed multiple times across his body on February 2nd, 2017 inside his apartment in the San Juan area of San Pedro town.
Police called the murder “a crime of passion.”
