Sony Xperia XZ1 price drop makes this flagship an absolute bargain

SONY’S new Xperia XZ1 is only a few months old but it’s already getting a major cut in price. Here’s the best deals on Sony’s latest flagship.

at the IFA technology show in September.

This latest flagship has plenty of decent features including a full metal design, glorious 5.2-inch full HD display and fast Qualcomm processor.

It’s also had a camera upgrade with its improved rear Motion Eye camera created using Sony’s knowledge from its award-winning ‘α’ and Cyber-shot camera ranges.

Not only will this camera take a good picture but it also features the ability to produce a full three-dimensional render of pretty much anything.

The 3D scan works via Sony’s rear camera and some clever software called 3D Creator.

This means, for the first time ever in a smartphone, you can capture high quality 3D scans of objects in just one minute.

As you’d expect from the Japanese tech firm the XZ1 is also water and dust resistant with it able to cope with a thorough soaking.

Now, just a few months after its launch it seems Sony is cutting the price of its latest smartphone.

This means fans of the Xperia brand can pick up an XZ1 from Sony for just £599 - that’s a saving of almost £200.

Sony is also throwing in an Xperia Ear worth £179 for free to anyone who buys the device directly from its store.

If you don’t fancy buying the Xperia SIM-only there are also some very good contract deals at the moment.

Mobiles.co.uk currently has an XZ1 deal which includes 2GB of data with EE for £22.99 per month.

There’s an upfront fee of £75 but this can be reduced to £65 with the code DEALENVY10

The total for this deal over a 24-month contract is £616.76 making it only just more expensive than buying directly from Sony without a SIM.

If you need more data than 2GB there’s also an offer from Vodafone, via Carphone Warehouse, which include 12GB of data for £29 per month.

There’s an upfront fee of £79.99 with the total cost over two years working out at £775.99.

It’s worth noting that neither of the contract deals above include Sony’s free Xperia Ear gift.
