BARISAL: Two people were killed and two others injured as a bus rammed a three-wheeler in Naruttampur area in Banaripara upazila of Barisal on Friday morning (Dec 8).
The deceased were identified as Nupur Akhter, 32, wife of one Kabir Howladar of the upazila and Fatema Begum, 38, wife of one Zahirul Islam Malek of Ramchandrapur village in Jhalakathi.
Locals said the accident happened around 9:30am as a passenger bus from Barisal hit the three-wheeler ‘Mahindra’ leaving the duo dead on spot.
Moreover, Fatema’s six-year-old son and Mahindra driver were critically injured in the incident and taken to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Banaripara police station officer-in-charge Sazzad Hossain said the killer bus was seized. However, the driver and helper managed to escape.
