Dec 08, 2017, 08:43 IST

While search and rescue operations by the Southern Naval Command continued for the eighth consecutive day on Thursday over the southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep and Minicoy (L&M) Islands, lives appear to limp back to normalcy after Cyclone Ockhi wrecked havoc here. Essential commodities such as fresh water, medicines, food, clothing and blankets along with other essentials items like emergency lights, petrol, portable 10 KVA power generators, UPS, rechargeable torches, tarpaulin and electrical tool kits were provided by the Indian Navy to the affected residents.
