New Rolls Royce Phantom transformed into recording studio for Skepta, who debuts new song
MERCURY award-winning Grime artist Skepta turned the brand new Rolls Royce Phantom VIII into a music studio and recorded a song while on the road.
Joseph Adenuga, better known by his stage persona Skepta, turned a brand-new Rolls Royce Phantom into a rolling recording studio.
The MOBO and Mercury Music award winning Grime MC recorded a new track whilst being chauffeured around in the all-new Rolls Royce Phantom.
Rolls Royce pulled the wraps off the all-new Phantom VIII earlier this year, which once again redefined the ultimate luxury vehicle.
The artist recorded track ‘Skepta RR’ after making a beat and recording vocals, all from the back seat of the new Phantom.
When Rolls Royce launched the new Phantom they revealed how they wanted to take it to a new level of bespoke and stated that the new car is highly customisable.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, said, “I want to welcome Skepta to the World of Rolls-Royce.
“He has shown a unique and exciting appreciation of the marque and interpreted Phantom’s credentials as the world’s quietest and most luxurious motor car with an exceptionally creative track and film.”
The car manufacturer developed the ‘Architecture of Luxury’ in the car’s production phase, which is all-new and proprietary aluminium spaceframe, combined with more than 130kg of sound insulation and two-layer 6mm glazing position.
This sound-proofing was put to the test by the popular Grime artist in the back of the half a million pound motor.
"I stepped in the car and there was no need to think," said Skepta.
"It was like sitting in first class on a plane minus the noise. Comfortable and silent, a perfect space to make music.”
The new Phantom will go on sale in 2018.
