As precipitation streaks toward the Washington region and the first flakes begin in Southern Maryland, it’s a good time to take stock of the various snowfall forecasts from media organizations and the National Weather Service through Saturday.

There is a fair amount of harmony in the available forecasts, with the majority predicting about 1 to 4 inches of snow in the D.C. metro area, and more in Southern Maryland and eastern areas.

Without further ado, here are the forecast maps:

Capital Weather Gang: 1-3 inches for metro D.C.

National Weather Service: 2-4 inches for metro D.C.

(National Weather Service)

NBC4: 2-4 inches for metro D.C., 1-2 inches in the District

FOX 5: 2-4 inches for metro D.C.

ABC7: 2-4 inches for metro D.C.

WUSA9: 1-2 inches for metro D.C.

For fun, I polled our group of Capital Weather Gang forecasters on how much they expect at Reagan National Airport, and they presented quite a range — but averaged 1.3 inches:

  • Brian Jackson: Trace
  • Matt Rogers: 0.6 inches
  • Wes Junker: 0.7 inches
  • Jeff Halverson: 0.8 inches
  • Dan Stillman: 0.8 inches
  • Angela Fritz: 1.0 inches
  • Greg Porter: 1.3 inches
  • David Streit: 1.8 inches
  • Jason Samenow: 2.6 inches
  • Ian Livingston: 3.4 inches

(Capital Weather Gang’s boss, metro editor Mike Semel, is going with 3.0 inches.)

Now it’s your turn: How much snow do you think will fall at Reagan National Airport through Saturday night. Vote in our poll below.
