DHAKA: A housewife allegedly committed suicide by hanging over family dispute at Meradia in Khilgaon of the capital on Friday morning (Dec 8).
The deceased was identified as Shiuli Akhter, 30, daughter of Joynal Mia of Arongo village in Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria.
Deceased’s younger brother Md Rana told Banglanews Shiuli had been living with her husband Ismail Hossain and four-year-old son Rifat in a rented house (33/3) in Khilgain’s Meradia area. She was a garment worker and her husband was a CNG driver.
On Friday morning, neighbors discover Shiuli in an unconscious state and rushed to Dhaka Medica College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty physician declared her dead, he added.
Shiuli’s family alleged that she might have committed suicide over family dispute.
DMCH police outpost in-charge SI Bacchu Mia said the body is being kept at hospital morgue for autopsy.
