Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan calls Kapu quota meagre

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM : Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan took a dig at the TDP for granting only 5 per cent quota for Kapus instead of 15 per cent quota as promised in the party manifesto.

Interacting with his party workers at a city hotel here on Thursday, Pawan Kalyan said that his brother Chiranjeevi is a gentleman, but he could not survive in politics as he was surrounded by selfish people. 

He said, “If everything would have gone well, Chiranjeevi would have become the Chief Minister of AP.” He reminded that Chiranjeevi’s public meeting in Tirupati drew a record turnout.

The Jana Sena chief said that his brother lost at Palacole where Kapus are in majority and won in Tirupati which is not his native. He said that various parties were singing different tunes on Polavaram project. But, they should verify the facts before making any statements on Polavaram.  

Referring to Opposition party, he said, “Political leaders should not use abusive language in Assembly and public places.” Sharing his opinion on Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, he said that Government’s communication adviser Parakala Prabhakar, could have used his wife Nirmala Sitharaman’s good offices to mount pressure on the Centre to accord SCS to the State. He said that many businessmen are evading taxes and this should not be tolerated. He said Jana Sena Party welcomes all who want to serve the society without desiring any post.
