Machine learning is in demand while Flash is fading.. Data scientists are in significant demand while specialized developers are not.
These are just a few trends which LinkedIn has garnered in the 2017 emerging jobs report. Jobs in the tech industry are soaring faster than any industry. The job which has witnessed the fastest growth in the last five years is machine learning as LinkedIn has witnessed a 10 fold rise in the number of positions open for the job role.
Data scientist position on the other hand comes in as the second most in demand with the number of jobs soaring 6.5 times, since the year 2012.
Firms from all industries are demanding data scientists and machine learning engineers, but LinkedIn's data reveals that there is not enough out there at present.
The demand for data scientists has soared by 650 percent since the year 2012 while there are more than 35,000 individuals in the US possessed with data science skills, Linkedin however reports that there are not enough data scientists to fill in this demand.
On the flip side however, the super specialized roles are on a decline irrespective of the industry. Considering a forecast from the institute for the future, a report reflects that about 85 percent of the jobs which will exist by 2030 are not invented yet and many professionals are recognizing this possibility. LinkedIn also says that many professionals are also stressed that their skillsets will be out of date within a year or two from now.
