Sugar weakens on reduced demand
Mumbai, Dec 8 (PTI) Both varieties of sugar prices weakened at the Vashi wholesale market here today following reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumers amidst ample supply position.
Small sugar (S-30) slumped by Rs 2/62 per quintal to Rs 3,340/3,500 from Thursday's close Rs 3,342/3,562.
Medium sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 32/18 per quintal to Rs 3,450/3,722 as against Rs 3,482/3,740 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,340/3,500 (Rs 3,342/3,562).
