Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached three acres of land worth around 45 crore rupees belonging to RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family in connection with the alleged corruption case of railway hotels allotment.
In July this year, the agency had registered a case against Mr Lalu Prasad, his family members and others in connection with irregularities in awarding the tender for maintenance of IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri. The tender was given when Lalu Prasad was Railways Minister during UPA rule.
The agency said, the land is in Patna allegedly in the name of the family members of Lalu Prasad and a mall was supposed to be constructed.
It said, the property has been provisionally attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The central probe had last week questioned Lalu Prasad’s wife Rabri Devi in this case in Patna.
