Himachal Police holds its first Raising Day

Himachal Governor Acharya Devvrat on Thursday asked police personnel to work in a friendly manner and with full responsibility while performing their duties to keep up the trust of the common citizens.

Addressing a function on the first Raising Day of H.P. Police department, the Governor said the law and order always remains foremost priority of any civilized society and therefore, the police had an important role to play.

Devvrat expressed his concern over the fact that despite achieving development in every sector, the level of morality in the society had gone down. He also expressed worry over the rising cases of addiction in the younger generation adding that serious efforts should be made to check this menace.

He congratulated the police department for organizing its first Raising Day and also honored outstanding sportsperson of the department on this occasion.

DGP Sumesh Goyal highlighted the main activities and programmes being carried out by the police department in the State. A colorful cultural programme was presented by the Jawans.

Former Governor of Nagaland and former DGP Himachal Pradesh, Ashwani Kumar, Chief Secretary VC Pharka and senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
