1 arrested for ATM loot bid

Dehradun police have arrested  the person who had allegedly attempted to rob an Allahabad Bank’s ATM in Dehradun from Gandhi Park in the city on Thursday. The accused has been identified as   Dinesh Rawat, resident of Tehri, who is  currently living in Patelnagar.  Police said that  CCTV  camera stolen during the attempted robbery and some tools used to break locks of the ATM were recovered from Rawat. Police had acted after receiving a complaint from manager of the main branch of Allahabad Bank Jitendra Singh. Acting on the complaint, a case under sections 379/411 and 427 of IPC had been registered against an unidentified person in the Kotwali  police station. A police team led by Dhara Chowki in-charge Kuldeep Pant had reviewed CCTV camera footages from the neighbouring areas which helped them identify the accused.
