TN girls make winning start in inter-school national meet

TN junior girls in action on Thursday

VIJAYAWADA: Tamil Nadu’s PS Senior School, and SBOA School and Junior College began first day of the 3rd 11SPORTS Inter- School Table Tennis National Championships 2017 on a thumping note here on Thursday. PS Senior School tamed Maha Vidya Niketan from Bihar 3-0 to advance to the knockouts in the Junior Girls’ category, with M Hansini and S Hrithika registering the victory.

SBOA were equally dominant, as they downed Sonepat’s Delhi Public School 3-0. Hansini set the ball rolling for the junior girls from Chennai, taming Sanaya Sahi 3-0 (11-3, 11-7, 11-1). Hrithika beat Dipali Raj 11-1, 11- 1, 11-0 for another straightgames win. They then paired up to torment Sanaya and Vaishnavi 11-2, 11-4, 11-4.

Thrisha & R Soundarya bt Poornima Rohila & Gayatri Chaudhary 3-0 (12-10, 12-10, 11-04).
