Pune: The second edition of International Transportation Electrification Conference (ITEC) India will be held in the city between December 13-15. It will be hosted by the city-based Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). "It is aimed at helping the industry in effortless transition from conventional to advanced electrified vehicles," Rashmi Urdhwareshe, ARAI director and chair- steering committee, ITEC 2017, said.
Till now, the country has managed to put about 1.6 lakh electric vehicles on roads cumula- tively - far lesser than what is sold in China and the US in just a year. "The next challenge (of mass produ- ction) is to scale up the development that happened so far," she said. TNN
