Pune: The developers' body at state- and national-level welcomed the Wednesday's judgement on the validity of MahaRera.

Pune Credai president Shrikant Paranjape said almost a third of the total complaints registered with MahaRera were form Pune. Welcoming the validity of Rera, he said, "We will present our analysis in a fortnight."

On the implementation of Section 18, he said Credai never complained about it.

Maharashtra Credai president Shantilal Kataria appreciated the decision of the Bombay high court for upholding the validity of Rera. "The verdict brings relief for developers by permitting the state-level Rera authority and the appellate tribunal to consider delays on a case-to-case basis and not to cancel projects or developers' registration in cases where the delay was caused due to 'exceptional and compelling circumstances'. It was also important and necessary in the interest of public at large as consumers get to register such projects under MahaRRERA," he said.

Credai national president Jaxay Shah stated that Credai continued to support the implementation of Rera. "We believe that the soul of Rera lies with homebuyers and we support the decision of the court to uphold the act's validity."
