A mausoleum crafted in ivory-white marble, India’s iconic Taj Mahal, is the second best United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) world heritage site in the world, according to a new survey by a travel portal. The Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and also known as the 'monument of love' is rated after Cambodia's Angkor Wat. The survey also included popular heritage sites like the Great Wall of China, South America's Incan citadel Machu Picchu in Peru. The online travel portal TripAdvisor conducted the survey, which lists the UNESCO Cultural and Natural heritage sites which are best rated by travelers around the globe.
