(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Dec.7(Petra)--- A general strike is declared on Thursday in various West Bank's cities and the occupied Jerusalem in protest against US President Donald Trump's decision to declare Jerusalem as Israel's capital and relocate the US embassy to the city.

Following Trump's announcement, Palestinian national and Islamic factions announced a general and comprehensive strike as a state of anger prevails in the holy city and other areas in the West Bank as well as Gaza enclave.

Clashes also erupted between the Palestinians with the occupation soldiers in different parts in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, denouncing the US decision.

Palestinian factions late Wednesday have called for mass rallies in the center of the Palestinian cities and to make it a day of rage against Israeli occupation and rejecting moving the American embassy to Jerusalem.
