10.30am: Wolves are in talks to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Carvalho, according to O Jogo.

The 20-year-old could move to Molineux for a £13.2m (€15m) fee.

The switch could take place in January or at the end of the season.

Black Cats eye Madine

9.45am: Sunderland fancy a move for Bolton striker Gary Madine.

A new target man could be a priority for Black Cats boss Chris Coleman if Bournemouth recall Lewis Grabban from his loan spell at the Stadium of Light.

Madine, 27, has scored six goals in 20 league appearances for Bolton this term.

McBurnie to Villa?

9.00am: Aston Villa are set to land Swansea starlet Oli McBurnie next month.

According to the Daily Star, the 21-year-old striker is ‘likely to join’ when the transfer window reopens.

Villa boss Steve Bruce needs attacking reinforcements after losing Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan to injury.

7.45am: Hull City have confirmed the appointment of Nigel Adkins as their new head coach.

The 52-year-old has signed an 18-month deal at the KCOM Stadium. 

He will take charge of Saturday’s game against Brentford.
