TVS Motor Company’s foray into the super-premium motorcycle segment with the launch of TVS Apache RR 310 has quite a few competitors in India.

We have already given you a comparison between TVS and BMW Motorrad’s first sub-500cc motorcycles - TVS Apache RR 310 and BMW G310R, respectively.

Apart from that, TVS Apache RR 310 will be competing with the likes of Bajaj Dominar 400, KTM 250 Duke, KTM RC 390, and Mahindra Mojo in India.

TVS Apache RR 310

Priced at Rs 2.05 lakh, 35 years of Racing heritage based expertise come standard with every TVS Apache RR 310. Inspired by the deadliest predator – the Shark, the Apache RR 310 is based on the Akula Concept which was showcased during 'Auto Expo 2016’ at New Delhi. 

It comes equipped with race inspired vertical speedo-cum-tacho with racing features like lap timer, top speed recorder, launch time recorder and race diagnostics. With aggressive styling, the first in its class Bi-LED twin projector headlamps and snake fangs inspired LED tail lights highlight Apache RR 310's sporty visual appearance. 

Offered in two colour options - racing red and racing black, it is fitted with 312.2cc SI, 4 stroke, 4 valve, single cylinder, liquid cooled, reverse inclined engine. It churns out maximum power of 25kW (34PS) at 9,700rpm and maximum torque of 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm. With maximum speed of 160 km/hr, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 7.17 seconds.

Bajaj Dominar 400

Available in four colours - matte black, moon white, midnight blue, and twilight plum, Dominar 400 has been priced at Rs 142, 108.

Equipped with 373.3cc triple spark 4-valve DTS-i liquid cooled engine, it churns out 35PS of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 35Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.

KTM 250 Duke

It is the younger brother of KTM 1290 Super Duke R. It is the only 250cc naked bike with real racing genes, claims the company. The water-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine developes 22kW (30hp) of power, the tubular trellis frame, the injection electronics, the WP suspension and the swingarm all combine to ensure a powerful drive.

Mahindra Mojo

This adventure touring motorcycle first came to India on 16 October, 2015. Mojo comes equipped with DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engine, low friction piston and rings, advanced EFI (Electronic Fuel Ignition), iridium spark plug, resonator fitted intake system and twin exhausts. Mojo also features twin pod head lamps with LED guide light and LED tail lamps. The fully loaded console includes a digital speedometer with fuel gauge, dual trip meter, and analogue tachometer.
