Shashi Kapoor prayer meet: Rekha, Hema Malini and Karisma Kapoor in attendance

As his famous song "Ik Raasta Hai Zindagi" played in the backdrop of the Prithvi Theatre, the place which he considered his own child, members of stage and film industry turned up in huge numbers to remember the star they loved, the man they admired - Shashi Kapoor. The legendary actor breathed his last on December 4 after suffering from kidney problems. The condolence meet saw the Kapoor family, including Krishna, Neetu, Karisma, Randhir, Babita and Rajeev coming together. Kapoor was known to be one of the most chivalrous men in the industry, with almost all his female co-stars always being full of praise for him. A proof of this was Rekha, Hema Malini, Waheeda Rehman, Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapuri, Simi Garewal and Dimple Kapadia - all of whom worked with the late star either as his co-star or his director, attending the prayer meet. In the theatre, was placed Kapoor's photo around which everyone lit candles, and on the screen played a montage of the actor's popular scenes.
