Halow+ project for RMG workers launched in Savar

CARE International on Tuesday launched the second phase of HALOW [Health Access and Linkage Opportunities for Workers] project in the country with a view to helping more garment workers solve their health problems.

The three-year-long second phase has been named “HALOW+” and will be implemented on 15 readymade garment factories in Savar, outside the capital, in association with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), and Marks & Spencer (M&S).

On the occasion, CARE Bangladesh organised an event at a hotel in the capital in the evening.

Dr Jahangir Hossain, CARE Bangladesh Director (Health); Rumana Ahmed, head of communication of GSK Bangladesh; Laura Hawkesford, ethical trading manager of M&S; and M Naimul Basher Chowdhury, director of Interstoff Apparels Ltd, which got benefitted under the first phase, spoke at the event.
