TRS neta fails to show up for ‘open debate’

KARIMNAGAR : The heat generated over the proposed open debate on Social Telangana and its Development between CPI and TRS fizzled out with TRS leaders skipping the meet. The two parties have earlier challenged each other for the open debate and for the past five days much heat was generated in the city. The challenge was initially made by CPI district secretary K Ramgopal Reddy and Irrigation Development Corporation chairman Eada Shanker Reddy accepted it.  

On Wednesday, CPI leader along with party activists waited at Telagnana Chowk for more than hour, but TRS leader did not turn up. After the CPI leader and his followers left the place, TRS ZP coopted member Md Jameel along with his followers came and squatted there for sometime. Meanwhile, police ensured bandobast at Telagnana Chowk to avoid any untsoward incident. Ramgopal Reddy said Shanker Reddy threw challenges but escaped in time and CPI still stuck to its allegation that TRS government failed to implement its election manifesto and welfare schemes.
