THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The director board meeting of Thiruvananthapuram Smart City project scheduled for Thursday has been postponed due to the non availability of a key member. “Principal secretary of LSGD, T K Jose will be unavailable for the meeting as he has to appear before High Court on Thursday. Since Thursday’s meeting is crucial it was decided to put off  the meet.” said a Corporation officer.

The board was to initiate crucial steps for finalising the project consultants including forming a technical committee to evaluate technical competency of bidders and a consultant selection committee. Mayor V K Prasanth will meet Chief Secretary K M Abraham, who is also the chairman of the board, to fix a new date.

Three consultants- Wadia Techno-Engineering Services Ltd, Mahindra Consulting Engineers Ltd and IPE Global Ltd.- had made the grade when the tender was opened on December 4.  The selection of consultants has already been delayed due to the strained ties between the Corporation and  former CEO of the Smart City project K Gopalakrishnan.  He has been replaced by KSIDC MD M Beena at the Mayor’s request.
