The final arguments on whether the juvenile accused (16-year-old) in the murder of Pradyuman Thakur of Ryan International will be treated as an adult or not will take place on December 8.
On Wednesday the Juvenile Justice Board heard all the arguments of the concerned counsels and ordered that the verdict will also be delivered on the same day after the final arguments.
During the hearing, the counsel's for the accused juvenile and Varun Thakur were present before the board while the Public Prosecutor (PP) and the Investigation Officer (IO) of the CBI did not appear before the court.
Meanwhile, the accused juvenile was produced before the JJ board on Wednesday sent him to a juvenile home for 14 days. The accused boy will be kept in judicial custody until December 20.
The accused through his counsel has also filed another application under section 74 of the Juvenile Act that pertain juvenile accused name should not be used during the proceeding.
"The board said the hearing on the Juvenile accused being treated as an adult or not will be heard on Friday and there is no other date will be adjourning for the arguments and
the final arguments will take place on December 8.
On the same day, the hearing on the application moved by the CBI before the Board seeking fingerprints of the Juvenile and an application moved by the boy's father, accusing the CBI questioning him beyond permissible time 6 pm will be heard on December 8," Varun Thakur's lawyer Sushil Tekriwal, said.
Besides, the Juvenile court on Wednesday said they have received sociological, biological report of the juvenile those are in the sealed cover. The court further said on Friday they will hear all the arguments of the concern counsel's before reaching any conclusion.
"The Juvenile court said the arguments in the case which take place on December 8 are very significant and important. Also, the board didn't open the report on Wednesday it will be open before the board on Friday as per the rules," Tekriwal, said. Apart from this Tanveer Ahmed Mir, the lawyer who successfully defended dentist-couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar in the Aarushi Talwar murder case were reached in the court but he didn't appear on Wednesday before the JJ Board. He took some documents of the case and has some discussion with the lawyer who is representing the Juvenile accused case before the Juvenile court.
"I didn't go through the documents of the case and I cannot say anything in front of the media. First I will study the case," Mir, said.
