Voting for 89 seats will be held on Dec 9

Campaigning for the first phase of assembly polls in Gujarat ended today. Voting will take place for 89 eighty-nine seats in this phase on Saturday.
The 182-member Gujarat Assembly will go to polls in two phases. Counting of votes will be taken up on 18th of this month.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his party has a simple agenda and that is development. Addressing an election rally at Surat in poll-bound Gujarat, Mr Modi said, some tough decisions had to be taken after the NDA government came to power but people have trusted his decisions. He said, the country’s 125 crore people are his high command and he is accountable to them.
Mr Modi said people in Surat did not get continuous electricity earlier but BJP government ensured uninterrupted power supply.
On the other hand, addressing professionals and teaching community in Rajkot, former Prime Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manmohan Singh said, BJP is desperately trying to distract people from real issues as the promised Achhe Din are no where to be found. He said, the MSMEs sector has grown through its own hard work rather than any significant support from state government.
He said the Congress has a vision for Gujarat’s development and it will come forward with creative solutions to provide employment for the youth.
