AMMAN —AlGhad— The Court of State Security (CSS) ruled on two major drug cases today, Wednesday, in which two defendants were found guilty, one them tried in absentia, and two others were cleared due to lack of evidence.

One of the convicted defendants was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison and a five thousand dinar fine.

The second convict of the day, still at large, was found guilty of trafficking a massive quantity of narcotic pills into the Kingdom. A case from 2016, in which the authorities intercepted an attempt to smuggle in 2.3 million pills.

He was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour in prison.

Meanwhile, evidence was not enough to pin the charges against the other two defendants.
