HC quashes order on Daspalla Hills land

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court on Wednesday set aside an order of a single judge who directed the concerned joint sub-registrar-I of Visakhapatnam to register land of about 636 square yards, belonging to Daspalla Hills, situated in Waltair ward of GVMC based on documents submitted by SSNR projects private limited. The bench agreed to the plea of SSNR projects to permit it to challenge the order of the district collector imposing ban on land registrations under Section 22(A) of the Registration Act.

The bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice G Shyam Prasad was passing this order in an appeal by the AP revenue department against single judge order.In 2016, the court passed an interim order directing the authorities to register lands in the Daspalla Hills land episode. Later on the SSNR project approached the court seeking similar direction to the joint sub-registrar to register 636 square yards in its favour.
