In a shocking incident, a youth was attacked with sharp weapons by some unidentified miscreants in broad daylight near the DCP’s office at Vani Vihar Square here on Wednesday.
The youth, identified as Bulu Nayak of VSS Nagar, was chased and attacked by the miscreants while he was waiting for a bus. A seriously injured Nayak was rushed to a private hospital by the locals, who also informed the police.
Police said the incident could have been an outcome of an old enmity. The Saheed Nagar police recorded the statement of the victim and started routine investigations. Efforts were on to trace and nab the miscreants.
The incident in a busy street in broad daylight, which is just a stone’s throw from the Saheed Nagar police station and DCP’s Office has sent shockwaves among the locals and exposed the miscreants losing fear of the Khaki.
