The police forces in Kabul have arrested at least ten people over a clash that left at least seven people dead or wounded, the security officials said late on Tuesday.

The individuals were arrested in connection to an incident that took place a while ago in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials are saying that the men managed to escape to Kabul after killing five people and injuring two others during a clash over land issues.

The officials further added that the men were hiding in Paghman district and were arrested after the police forces launched an operation in coordination with the Nangarhar police.

This comes as there has been a sharp rise in criminal-related incidents in Kabul city and other key cities of the country during the recent years.

The security officials on Sunday said the police forces in Kabul have arrested at least 566 people on various criminal charges amid ongoing efforts to curb the criminal related incidents.

The Kabul police and Criminal Investigation Department officials said the suspects were arrested during the separate operations conducted during the past two months.

The officials further added that the suspects were held on charges of murder, armed robbery, kidnappings, sale of alcohol and drugs, and other criminal related incidents.
