Remember X Factor's Spanish bombshell Ruth Lorenzo? Here's what she does now

THE X Factor sometimes lets superstars slip through the net.

The 2017 is over, so we thought we'd take a look back at former stars who nearly snatched the crown.

There's 2008 finalist Ruth Lorenzo, for example.

The brunette beauty proved to be a huge hit with the judges when she auditioned for the popular TV talent show nine years ago.

Ruth performed a rendition of Aretha Franklin's (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman for judges Simon Cowell, , Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh.

She ended up finishing the show in fifth place, losing out to , , JLS and Eoghan Quigg before the semi-finals.

While winner Alexandra, Vickers and JLS went on to release music, Ruth appeared to fade into the background.

However, since the show Ruth has since seen huge success.

It's been a slow burn, after her first single wasn't a huge success.

In 2011, Ruth reached the Top 20 in the Spanish Singles Chart with her debut song.

However, her debut album was not released until 2014, although it seems it was worth the wait after it became popular in Spain.

In just one week the starlet climbed to No 3 in the album charts with Azul: Edicio Especial.

That same year she was selected to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest, where she finished in 10th place.

Now, Ruth has amassed a whopping 106,000 followers on Instagram with her popularly ever-growing.

During November this year, Ruth released Good Girls Don't Lie, the first single from her new album titled Loveaholic.

EUROVISION 2014: Ruth finished in 10th place

In 2015, Ruth put her talent show experience to good use as she became a judge in the Spanish talent show Levitate.

The bombshell also holds a Guinness World Record, after managing to perform eight concert in just 12 hours during Breast Cancer Awareness month last year.

She holds the record for the most live concerts in 12 hours in multiple town.
