Vadodara: The Congress party on Wednesday said that if it comes to power in Gujarat it will provide sanitary napkins for free to female students in the state. The BJP government had faced the flak for imposing 12% goods and services tax (GST) on sanitary pads.
"If we come to power in Gujarat, our government will provide sanitary napkins for free to female students," Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress national spokesperson said on Wednesday. She went on to say that the BJP government doesn't care about women. Chaturvedi also promised to reduce the school dropout ratio of girl students in the state. The Congress leaders added that women are not safe under BJP rule in Gujarat.
