Carrie Fisher went everywhere with her dog, Gary, and it turns out the galaxy far, far away is no exception.
Yep, Gary has an outer-space counterpart in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as confirmed by director Rian Johnson. In fact, you may have seen him already.

Johnson confirmed that, yes, that is a space alien version of Gary Fisher we're looking at.
