Carrie Fisher went everywhere with her dog, Gary, and it turns out the galaxy far, far away is no exception.

Yep, Gary has an outer-space counterpart in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, as confirmed by director Rian Johnson. In fact, you may have seen him already.

An eagle-eyed fan noticed the space pup in the background of a recently released still.

Look at him! He's giving the porgs a run for their money in the "cutest new Star Wars creature" department.

Johnson confirmed that, yes, that is a space alien version of Gary Fisher we're looking at.

No word yet on whether Space Gary and Space Carrie have any scenes together, but here's hoping. It'd be just the thing to fill our hearts with joy and drain our eyes of all their tears.
