Ctg transport strike called off

Chittagong Metropolitan Gono Paribahan Malik Sangram Parishad yesterday withdrew their indefinite strike following a meeting with the city corporation mayor.

Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin in the meeting held at his office at 5:00pm assured that he would sit with the concerned bodies to discuss their demands including flexibility in issuing driving licence and letting old vehicles ply the streets, said Belayet Hossain Belal, president of the Parishad. 

The strike was called off after two days of woe of commuters, especially school students and garment workers.
