The Channel 4 soap is known for hard-hitting storylines and links to current affairs links during the show, but this week their plans to blend the fictional life of the village with the real world went wrong.
After Dirk Savage admitted to cheating on his partner Cindy Cunningham he begged for forgiveness.
Referring to Love Island winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies, Dirk said: "I need her. She is Amber to my Kem."
Awkwardly, news off their split had broken just hours before the show went live.

Within seconds the fail was the talk of Twitter with fans openly mocking the show.
"When Dirk said Cindy's like his 'Amber to my Kem' but Kem and Amber are no longer together. Awks," one fan said.
A second added: "Dirk saying Cindy is his Amber to his Kem probs not the best example seeing as they have broken up."

Kem and Amber announced their split at the start of the week.
Taking to Twitter to address her fans, Amber said: "Would just like to say I am incredibly overwhelmed by everyone's lovely messages and comments.
