LAKSHMIPUR: A district court on Wednesday (Dec 6) acquitted former acting civil surgeon Salah Uddin Sharif, who was sent to jail through a mobile court following brawl with Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sheikh Murshidul Islam.
Lakshmipur additional district magistrate Iqbal Hossain passed the order following an appeal filed by Salah Uddin Sharif’s lawyer Rasel Mahmud.
After the acquittal, surgeon Salah Uddin Sharif told reporters, “the charges brought against me in the mobile court are proved false and I am happy with the latest verdict.”
Earlier on Monday (Dec 4), the former civil surgeon Dr Salahuddin Sharif was sent to jail through a mobile court in allegation of misconduct against Lakshmipur Additional District Commissioner (ADC) Sheikh Murshidul Islam. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and executive magistrate (UNO) Md Nuruzzaman conducted the mobile court in DC office.
However, on the next day, Additional District Magistrate Mir Shawkat Hossain granted bail to civil surgeon Dr Salahuddin Sharif.
On Tuesday (Dec 5), the High Court asked Lakshmipur Additional District Commissioner (ADC) Sheikh Murshidul Islam and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Nuruzzaman to appear before it on Dec 13 to explain why a former civil surgeon was sentenced to three months jail by a mobile court.
