Omani, Korean companies explore business prospects

Around 35 Omani companies attended a day-long seminar held to boost business ties with Korea at the Sheraton Oman Hotel on Wednesday. 

The seminar also saw one-to-one business meetings between ten Korean and the Omani companies.

The Korean companies that attended the event specialise in industrial products like valves, water hammer control products, flow meters, heat exchangers and solar heaters.

H E Kang Doho, Korea’s Ambassador to Oman also met the delegates. He said, “I am confident that such trade delegations will enhance cooperation between Oman and Korea. It will pave the way for fruitful economic cooperation between the two countries.”

Suh Bo-sung, manager of International Affairs Team, Korea Plant Industries Association (KOPIA) said, “We see several opportunities in Oman owing to ongoing projects.

“We are teaming up with Omani companies to provide high-end equipment. We are working closely with many companies in the MENA region.”

The meeting was organised by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, a non-profit trade promotion organisation, representing the Commercial Division of Korean Embassy in Oman along with KOPIA, Korea Association of Machinery Industry and Korea South East Power Company.
