TRS calls tjac meeting ‘utter flop show’

HYDERABAD: The ongoing verbal war between the ruling TRS and opposition parties over unemployment issue has escalated further. While the ruling party has accused opposition parties of encouraging Telangana Joint Action Committee  chairman M Kodandaram to attack the government for their “selfish gains”, the Congress and Telugu Desam hit back at the TRS, saying that the government was trying to divert people’s attention from the suicides of unemployed youth by targeting Kodandaram.

A day after TJAC’s Koluvula kai Kotlata (Fight for jobs) programme here on Monday, which was attended by representatives from all opposition parties, the ruling party sharpened its attack on Kodandaram, accusing him of acting as a Congress agent and helping opposition parties undertake a false campaign against the government. 

Dubbing the Koluvula kai Kotlata as an “utter flop show”, the TRS said the former professor was dancing to the tunes of the opposition parties and casting aspersions on the government.
“Kodandaram is in the hands of Congress. He and opposition parties have politicised the suicide of E Murali, a PG student of Osmania University, in order to derive political mileage from it. If he has any guts, he should float a political party,” TRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and MP Balka Suman said here on Tuesday. 

The TRS leaders alleged that Kodandaram had used the meeting to spew venom on the family of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. “Instead of raising issues relating to unemployed youth, the TJAC chairman used the meeting only to hurl invectives at the CM’s family. PG student Murali committed suicide on the OU campus for being unable to cope with the academic pressure. But Kodandaram has been claiming that the delay in filling vacant teacher posts forced Murali to take his own life. The fact is that Murali did not complete BEd to appear for teacher posts’ recruitment test as claimed by Kodandaram,” Rajeshwar Reddy said. 

On the other hand, the Congress and the TDP, for one more time, held the government responsible for the suicide of Murali. While demanding a probe by a sitting judge into the suicide,  TPCC chief spokesperson Dasoju Sravan  said government’s failure to fill vacant posts had driven Murali to suicide.
TDP too demanded a judicial probe iwnto the suicide. Party senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy said that as TRS had failed to keep its promise of filling all vacant posts in various departments, youngsters like Murali were ending their lives.

Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to console Murali’s kin 

Hyderabad: Jana Sena founder and film star Pawan Kalyan, who had been maintaining silence on people’s issues for the past one month, on Tuesday extended his support to the unemployed youth in both the Telugu-speaking states. The actor-turned-politico announced that he would visit both AP and TS in a phased manner to console families of youngsters, who committed suicide because of unemployment.  

“It’s unpardonable on the part of ruling establishments, if they fail to keep the promise of providing jobs to youth. I call upon unemployed youth in the two states not to resort to extreme steps. Jana Sena will be with them to exert pressure on governments” Pawan stated in a release here on Tuesday. According to the release, Pawan will first tour AP from December 6. He will console kin of N Venkatesh, who allegedly committed suicide against privatisation of Dredging Corporation of India, in Visakhapatnam.
