Khalsa, Kolkata, Nagpur shine at Rajmata Hockey

On Tuesday, Khalsa University, Sonipat's teams start with a bang while Shining Club, Kolkata and Nagpur Hockey Academy also exhibited impressive performance.

On the fourth day of All India Rajmata Vijay Maharaj Scindia Gold Cup Women's Hockey Tournament organized by Bhopal Municipal Corporation teams of Khalsa University Amritsar and Sonipat Hockey Academy started with a bang by defeating Jhansi XI by 19-0 and Tamilnadu Senior Women by18-0.

In the other matches, Shining Club Kolkata defeated Adhar Hockey Foundation Nagpur by 2-1 and Mayor Eleven Bhopal by 1-0.

During the matches, IG Shri Jaideep Prasad, the Chief Minister of the State, B.D. Sharma, Bhopal Development Authority Chairman, Om Yadav, Additional SP Rajesh Singh Chandel were present.  

All the matches are being played at Major Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium.

In Group C match, Khalsa University started with a boom and defeated Jhansi XI by 19-0 and Khalsa's team was ahead 9-0 ahead.

Khalsa's Amarinder Kaur scored a hat-trick with 6 goals.

In the second match Sonipat defeated Tamil Nadu Senior Team by 18-0. The team maintained the position from the beginning.

In another match Shining Club, Kolkata defeated Aadhar Hockey Foundation by 2-1. Aarti Vishwakarma made the field goal in 30 minutes and the penalty corner got the penalty caller from Kolkata player Pooja, who got some time back to the goal.

In the 62nd minute, Gayatri Shinde of Kolkata scored a scintillating field goal and scored 2-1 and won.

Against Mayor XI Bhopal in the last match, Nagpur Hockey Academy got an edge over the second minute when player Priyanka scored a field goal by dodging the Bhopal players.

After lagging one goal, the Bhopal players displayed a spectacular game and did not give any chance to make the Nagpur players the target for the last time. This match won Nagpur 0-1.

Nagpur's Prateeksha Parmar was awarded the Player of the Match award.
