A CISF head constable was killed and another jawan injured in an attack by coal mafia at Kalayani weight house under Dhori CCL area on Tuesday night when the jawans were on duty.
The CISF head constable, R.K. Prasad, was attacked in Dhori colliery areas of the Central coalfield Limited when he was on night shift duty, said Bokaro Superintendent of Police, Kartik S. He said that an FIR has been lodged with Chanderpura police station in this regard .
Police sources said around 1am about dozen unidentified coal mafias came on the pretext of querying about some local who were present there. Suddenly, all of them took out traditional weapons and before the head constable could understand anything or got a chance to stop them, they attacked and killing the constable on the spot while one driver identified as Baleshwar Mahto got seriously injured in this attack. They then escaped from the spot with some important articles like battery and others equipments, sources said.
Profusely bleeding Prasad and Mahto were rushed to Dhori regional hospital where the doctors pronounced Prasad brought dead while Baleshwar Mahto was
admitted in the hospital while his condition is said to be critical.
Bokaro SP rushed to the spot soon after getting information of the murder and started an investigation.
