Sheikh Hasina Software Park opens Sunday

Sheikh Hasina Software and Technology Park in Jessore town will open on Sunday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the hi-tech park through a video conference.

The authorities concerned are expecting that the inauguration of the IT Park will reduce unemployment in the southwest region and will also create an industrial revolution in the IT sector of the country.

The 1 acre software park will consist of IT firms and 55 companies have already  been  allocated space in the park, said Sheikh Jahangir Alam, project director and joint secretary of Software Technology Park.

While inaugurating a job fair in Jessore on October 4, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak visited at the ongoing project.

Out of the allocation of Tk 305 crore for the project, Tk 290 crore has already been spent, he said.

Under the project the government will provide job opportunities to nearly three lakh unemployed job seekers in the next three years.

Besides, it will arrange training for about 20 lakh youths by 2021, the minister added.

The 55 companies include Ideas Limited, Varna IT, Partu, Premier Lab, Water Speed, Saj Telecom, Spectrum Engineers Consortium Limited, Fire Systems Limited, Dohaatek New Media, Augaidix Bangladesh Limited, MCC, On Air International Limited, Qazi IT Centre, Fiftech, E-Generation Limited, Sentencing, Disikon Technologies, Walton Computers, Brilliant Stellar Digital Limited and Emba Ltd.
