Sim card retailer held in fraud case

The Cyber crime police have nabbed a retailer of Aircel SIM cards who had provided SIM card to accused involved in duping victim in the name of linking of Aadhaar card.

The nabbed accused was identified as Shaqib Rehman of Sahibganj Bihar after it was found that he had provided the SIM card used in the fraud. After the arrest the accused was brought to the city and further investigation has been started.

During the investigation when the mobile number was searched it was found that the mobile number belonged to a woman in Bihar and based on the information a three member team was sent and later in the investigation it was found that the SIM card retailer had provided her document to obtain SIM and sold the SIM card to the accused at Rs 5000.

The accused confessed to have sold SIM card to the accused for Rs 5000 using documents of a woman of his acquaintance. The main accused persons who committed the fraud are still at large and search for the accused is intensified.

After the arrest of the accused more details which could help to nab the main accused would be obtained and help in nabbing the main accused.Notably Shishir Choube of the city lodged a complaint with the cyber crime regarding duping to the tune of Rs 18995 by the accused posing as SBI official and offering to link Aadhar card with the bank account and failing to link Aadhar would lead to blocking of bank account.
