Cape Town - Baroka FC head coach Kgoloko Thobejane laments his sides 4-0 Absa Premiership defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

High-flying Bakgaga were dealt a huge blow in maintaining their lead at the top of the league standings as they fell short against the Brazilians.

Goals from Motjeka Madisha, Percy Tau and a Themba Zwane brace was enough to secure maximum points for the Brazilians.

Thobejane admitted that in his pre-match team talk he told his players to keep it tight at the back and try to score as early as possible if they were to have a chance against Pitso Mosimane’s side.

"Pre-match I alluded that we need to score early, if they [Sundowns] score early, then it's a problem," he told SuperSport.

"We were very much unfortunate today. It's one of those games, a test of character. From here, we must be stronger so we can keep on going."

Thobejane added: "We were not trying to control the ball, it was one, two, three, four passes and then we lose the ball. Even if we were going forward, we were unable.

"It's one of those games, but we'll take it from here."

Baroka will travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium for match against Maritzburg United on Friday, December 8.
