On the occasion of World Soil Day, Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated water harvesting model at Ram Krishna Mission Ashram here on Tuesday and pledged to create a new and affluent Jharkhand. He asked people to follow the path of Swami Vivekanand and create India of his dreams.
Das said that one should not solely depend on bureaucracy for development as its consequences have been seen in the past 67 years. “Mission to double the income of farmers under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started and farmers are given instruction about better agriculture. Our joint effort can end poverty in the state full of natural resources,” he said.
The CM admired Vivekanand Seva Sangh working in 120 villages of Ranchi, Ramgarh and Khunti by Ram Krishana Mission and said that an ssistance of 8 thousand rupees per month will be given to them. “One club is being constituted for two aanganbadi centres. They will work towards changing the perception of villagers. There should be meeting in every week to create village development plan for 3 years. Villages should be encouraged for intoxication free environment. Open defecation must end. A list should be made about houses which do not have lavatory. Government will give them assistant for construction,” said the CM.
He also asked to ensure that all children attend schools. “Dropout girls aged between 14 and 24 should be asked about their interest. Those who are deprived of studies due to poverty, government will help in their education. Those who want to work will be trained under skill development for employment. Families under BPL will be trained and job will be provided to them so that they can come out of BPL category. They will be given training of beekeeping, poultry, dairy and garment manufacturing. Villagers will inform the government about construction of dova, well, pond and check dam and the government will directly pay them required money,” he added.
The CM said, “Our culture is very old. Swami Vivekanand went to Chicago and made people aware about our culture and spiritualism. We should be proud of our culture. We should be careful about protecting our own culture against any cultural invasion. We should follow ideals of Swami Vivekanand and contribute in the development of Jharkhand. He inspired Jamshedeji Tata to establish steel plant in India when Jamshedji wanted to establish steel plant in abroad.”
The CM distributed Soil Health Cards among people and said that just like soil health card the newly started Health Insurance Card is for people under which an assistance of 2 lakh rupees is given to poor people. Das also gave approval to Ram Krishna Vivekanand University on the occasion.
Ranchi MP Ram Tahal Chaudhary, Secretary of Ram Krishna Mission Aashram Swami Bhaweshnandji, Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal, Vice Chancellor of Ram Krishna Vivekanand University Swami Aatmpriyanand, CGM of NABARD Subroto Mandal and others were present in the programme.
