Govt jobs for Eklavya award winners

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced to provide government jobs to Eklavya award winners, appoint winners of medals in international championships to Sub Inspector, Constable’s posts in Police Department without examination and make similar arrangements in other government departments also.

 Chouhan was addressing the Madhya Pradesh Shikhar Khel Alankaran Samaroh 2017 programme here on Tuesday. Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Rajendra Singh, MLAs, elite citizens, sports lovers and players were present on the occasion.

 He said that life is incomplete without sports. If sports come in politics, it’s a miracle but politics must not come in sports. In the vision with which the work of nation building is in progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will make a record in medals in 2020 Olympics. The country is making new history in sports.

 Madhya Pradesh will also lead in this which is apparent from the performance of its players, Half the players of Womens’ Hockey team of India are from Hockey academies of Madhya Pradesh. As many as 80 players of the state took part in international championships in which 46 bagged medals. He told the parents to give opportunity to children to play and enjoy also. State government is with children who wish to pursue studies and those who wish to pursue sports. Making a mention of the scheme in which state government will bear the expenses of fees of higher education of outstanding students, he said that children who play well will also not remain behind. Children are the future of the state and every need of theirs will be fulfilled.

 Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathod said that a law will be formulated and reservation will be provided to players on fixed posts in central government jobs. In case there is no candidate for the required post reserved for players, the vacant post will be added to next year’s vacant posts. A mobile application related to sports is being prepared in which information of sports grounds, other facilities and trainers will be made available.

 Rathod said that Government of India is working on the vision of Khelo India. For the first time in the country a massive tournament will be organized for Under-17 sports competitions from January 31 to February 8, 2018. Various schools, federations and Sports Authority of India teams will participate in the tournament. Central government will also provide sponsorship of first phase to make support and resources available to players. As many as 1000 players from all over the country will be provided sponsorship for 8 years at the rate of Rs 5 lakh per year. Before the coming summer holidays, a talent hunt will be conducted for sports in the 8-14 age group in all schools. They will be provided training in the games on the basis of their physical capacities and skills.
